In 2011, The 403 Club opened its doors in its original location at 403 N. Fifth St., inviting neighbors and friends to enjoy its unique setting among the patchwork homes and vintage storefronts of historic Strawberry Hill. Offering pinball, and sought-after craft beers, the bar saw tremendous early success as a neighborhood staple, even winning the Pitch award for Best New Bar in 2011. By 2014, the 403 Club had outgrown the cozy digs of Fifth Street and made the move to its new home, only a few blocks away at 614 Reynolds. In its current location, the bar features 11 pinball machines and an electronic dartboard. Six HD television screens and an internet jukebox keep the senses occupied.

The strength and history of the Slavic-American community who built Strawberry Hill have shaped not only the neighborhood, but the people who call it home. Stories about the families, going back to the nineteenth century, are part of the lively chatter at the bar when you pull up a seat at 403. You'll find Croatian, Slovenian, Russian, and Polish-American families who have lived in the neighborhood for generations. Ethnic festivals are held annually and the tight-knit community sponsors various pub crawls benefiting the neighborhood several times a year.
